Jerry Greyson
Position: Neighborhood 5 Rep.
Family: Me and my wife of 51 years, Jackie.
Pets: We used to be devotees of German Shepherds and lost our last one about two years ago. We miss them but decided against raising still another.

About my Family: Jackie and I have three children and five grandchildren. Our oldest, a cardiologist on the staff of the VA hospital in Denver lives with his wife Marianne and two children in Greenwood Village. We do a lot of baby-sitting. Our middle child, Ann, a former computer software engineer and now a stay-at-home mom, lives with her husband, Mike, and her two children in Hillsborough, California. Our youngest, Paul, also a computer software engineer, lives with his wife, Laura, and their nearly three year old baby girl in Oakland, California.

Jackie was raised in California, was a drama major and graduated from U.C. Berkeley. I was raised in New York City and was chemistry major and graduated from Hunter College. We met in New York where Jackie was trying to break into professional theater and got married after I completed a lot of graduate training at Penn State. Luckily she chose me in preference to acting.

Present Occupation: Retired industrial chemist, former chemical consultant, and part time chemistry instructor at Metropolitan State College. Currently, apart from baby-sitting, I spend most of my time in front of a computer. Along with photography, a life-long hobby, I enjoy software development and I’m having a good time maintaining this web site.

Time in WH/previous locations: We arrived in Colorado in 1986 after working and living in New York, Northern and Southern California, Elkhart, Indiana, and Glen Ellyn, Illinois. We lived near the top of Conifer Mountain in Conifer for 18 years and moved to WH about three years ago.

Why WH: Getting on in years, we decided that mountain living might be getting a little too strenuous. So in addition to the attractiveness and affordability of the neighborhood, we liked the proximity to our oldest son and his family.

Changes that have happened in WH: We haven’t been here long enough to recognize any significant changes except for the fact that I now serve on the Civic Association Board.

Concerns/hopes for WH: I would hope that the neighborhood remained as pleasant as it is currently. As for the Civic Association, I’m hoping that we can think of and implement, in addition to our Ice-Cream Socials, other constructive neighborhood functions that benefit the residents as a whole.
